Charming and spotless - perfect

We had a wonderful time in the stable which had a lovely rustic french chalet feel to it. Well equipped and spotless inside with a comfy large bed and peaceful surroundings. The pool was delightful in the afternoon after a long bike ride. Ideal for cyclists. Would definitely return.

High Quality Apartment in a Lovely Part of the Island

Just spent a very enjoyable week here with our two children aged 10 & 12. The apartment had just been finished a few weeks earlier so everything was brand new. Kitchen Very well kitted out with an array of utensils and an ice machine in the fridge which our children were ecstatic about!! My husband was also very happy that there was a Nespresso machine available to use! Comfy beds and sofas in a spacious apartment. Great TV too! The apartment is one of four, two of which are separate from the main building. There is bike storage outside which is a huge bonus if you bring bikes along. The owner, Dan and his family live on site downstairs- they are friendly and helpful. Gardens are great for kids to play in although there are the usual “one child only” in the trampoline and no over 11’s on the play equipment. Fairly standard nowadays. The heated outdoor pool has a 2hr private session for each apartment each day which worked ok for us on a couple of times later in the day. Pre-Covid this wouldn’t have been an issue and I expect we could have used it at any time. My only slight criticism would be that it was lacking in window blinds and soft furnishings like cushions and rugs so it sounded quite hollow and echoey and the curtains in the bedrooms let a lot of light in. Also I think Dan could have saved himself a lot of work by having a folder with things to do and places to eat, although this may again have been a Covid restriction, but I’m used to having a folder full of local info to use whilst on holiday. Anyway these are minor things, we had a lovely week despite the unpredictable weather.

Great for family break

Our family of 5 (kids aged 7, 5 & 3) had a lovely break in the Garret - it's a really clever layout which meant it accommodated all of us very comfortably. It's practical but also luxury, so it's an easy place to stay with a young family, but still feels like a holiday! Lyon Court is great, fantastic pool and big garden with play area. Sorry to leave, we could have stayed another week!

Lovely place to relax

We had a lovely, relaxing stay at Lyon Court. The Old Stable was just what we were looking for to take our mind off things. Everything we needed was provided, from cutlery, tv and wi-fi to spacious outdoor area where we could eat and unwind at the end of the day. Also nice to be able to park close after a long day out when we had lots of things to bring in! And Dan was a helpful host, on hand if we had any questions.

Fabulous find!

Amazing stay at Lyon Court. Dan and Bec, the owners are so lovely and nothing is too much trouble. We stayed in the Old Stable which was lovely with everything we needed provided. The owners are always on hand to chat with and give island information. The outdoor space at Lyon Court is fabulous with lovely gardens and a great outdoor pool. Would highly recommend for a wonderful stay in a great location!

Lovely family accommodation well located for Shanklin & IOW

Stayed a week a Lyon Court & found it a great base to walk into Shanklin old town & down to the beach (although recommend driving with young kids to the latter - lot of complaining on the way back as up hill!), which is one of the most family friendly on the Island. We were only a family of four, so found it very spacious & well stocked with everything you could want for a self catering. Nice furniture, bbq, outside seating and also quite private. Given allotted times each day for the Pool due to CV19, obviously some more convenient that others, but on the plus side you get it all to yourself. On balance think I'd prefer that over sharing it with the other 3 flats as it could probably get pretty crowded if everyone was in it at the same time. Dan & Bec were great hosts & had kids similar ages to ours so couldn't do enough. First time on IOW and lots to do rain or shine. Wasn't a problem for us (sadly), but may have got a bit hot during the heatwave earlier in the summer as doesn't have aircon but it's also not in Spain, so would really expect that!

The Old Stable

We stayed a long weekend in the stable. We were welcomed by Dan who showed us around. It is a very cosy place with all amnesties you want. It has it own outside terrace and parking next to the stable. In the garden you will find the heated pool. The Lyon Court is just a 10 minute walk away from the Town centre with all its shops and restaurants. Dan send out extensive emails with things to do and restaurants in the neighborhood. We really enjoyed our stay and even so much the next one is already booked again. Michel & Penny.

We spent two weeks here during lockdown easing in July 2020 and had what was probably the best family holiday ever. The apartment was clean and fresh which was reassuring given that we were in the middle of a pandemic. There was plenty of space within the grounds for the children to run around and the addition of a trampoline and a two-storey Wendy house complete with fitted carpet were very welcome additions! We had a two hour designated slot just for our family in the pool each day to comply with Covid-19 social distancing requirements which worked well. The kids had so much fun playing in the garden and swimming in the pool each day. The location is fantastic and Shanklin/Sandown beach is great for kids and much less crowded than our own beach (we live in Bournemouth). The Bray family are enormously hospitable and kind. They went out of their way to make our stay as pleasant as possible and were always on hand to answer any questions we had. I had some trepidation about going on holiday during lockdown easing but it couldn't have worked out better. There is so much to do on the Isle of Wight that nowhere feels crowded and we were able to relax and having a fairly normal holiday given the situation. Would definitely recommend Lyon Court-as would my children!

Wonderful Experience

Staying at Lyon Court is absolutely ideal for any family. We have 3 generations and have been coming for the last 10 years! The pool, garden and general outside spaces are picturesque and perfect for an outside drink, coffee or just to appreciate sitting and relaxing in whilst the children enjoy playing or you listen to the wood pigeons! Inside is decorated to extremely high standards, again with lovely views and lots of space for families. We can't rate our stay here highly enough and the hosts are extremely friendly, relaxed and professional. Excellent!
